Хожу как в том анекдоте про женскую конференцию. Точнее, с первым пунтктом я не согласна, но надеть совершенно нечего. А надо, при чем до пятницы для большого и красивого бала в Вене. Тут же в магазинах все платья одной марки и какие-то слишком черные, слишком открытые, слишком тяжелые. А душе хочется чего-нибудь легкого, но элегантного.

Weiß jemand zufällig, wo man in Frankfurt/Darmstadt/Offenbach ein schönes, bodenlanges Abendkleid kaufen bzw. für dieses Wochenende ausleihen kann? Laufe schon seit 3 Tagen durch Geschäfte und kann nichts finden:(

Update! Update! 27.08.08. Problem solved, dress bought. Interesting that in all Karstadts, Galeria Kaufhofs, Henschel&Ropertz and this Sch* -Shop in Darmstadt (I forgot the name) you get the same dresses of the same label (Vera Mont), that I assume 90% of all women will be wearing. C&A, ZERO and Hallhuber have their own models, but normally there are no nice dresses of my size (except of the one I have bought;))

Fleischmarkt

Last week I bought some cabanossi from a meat market. Was nice to see the receipt. Since my camera does not like the water I could not take a picture. But fortunately this Fleischmarkt is popular all throughout Germany.

Today in the English class (000, the second time this year:)) we read a text about luck. Lucky people act on chance and are more relaxed. The teacher asked, who consider themselves as lucky. One colleague answered "I'm in charge for my life".
What do you prefer? To relay on chance or to be in charge?

Truth again

Check this out (German TV)! Is she deaf? Is the whole world deaf? In Germany they collect money for victims after every possible smaller catastrophe and now there are 2000 people dead, many thousands injured and at least 34 000 fled from South Ossetia. And now instead of thinking of this people, everybody only cares about Merkel's and Bush's opinion on Russia?

And you can be sure that no newspaper outside of Russia has written about the three questions Medvedev asked journalists on the press conference in Sochi:
1. Who started the war? Georgian army or russian peace-keepers?
2. Does the world want Ossetians in South Ossetia and Abkhasians in Abkhasia to end their existence?
3. Are the events in South Ossetia a humanitarian catastrophe? Or is it a catastrophe only for Ossetian people and Russia?


To calm down I read moonofalabama, watch this(Russian) and hope that OSCE-Monitoring Officers will come, see what happens there and speak about it. Loud.

Update 14.08: Check this out! Barack Obama is also a lefthander! One plus point for him. Another one for his calm reaction to the situation in South Ossetia compared to McCain. I personally have an impression that he is just careful. Say common known things and you'll be safe. Have you seen his speech in Berlin? The same story, some common stuff plus couple of "magic words" for Germany like "CO2 reduction" and "no more nuclear energy".

Offiziell krank Самый больной

Ab heute bis Donnerstag bin ich zum ersten Mal im Leben offiziell krankgeschrieben! Nicht dass ich früher nicht krank war, habe es mir aber nie gegönnt zu Hause zu bleiben. Obwohl ich als Kind sehr gerne krank war. Richtig ausschlafen, Bücher lesen, die ganze Aufmerksamkeit der Familie bekommen - ein Traum.

В первый раз в жизни не хожу на работу, потому что болею. Тут прикольно, если болеешь, надо самое позднее на третий день пойти к врачу и взять справку. Меня до четверга дома оставили.
В детстве всегда любила болеть. Сидишь дома, кайфуешь, спишь, книжечки почитываешь. Сейчас еще и инет есть:) Ну я в общем все равно на сне да молоке с медом концентрируюсь.

А поржать и пожрать?

Wonderful long German words - here the name of the square, where we passed yesterday going to 23. Berger Straßenfest, actually Untere Berger Straßenfest. Berger Straße is a very long shopping street, that does have 2 street festivals - Obere Berger Straßenfest (13.08 as part of Bornheimer Kerb) and Untere Berger Straßenfest (now).
